Cuff – A New American Restaurant in Glendale, AZ

Cuff Restaurant Glendale, AZ

As stated on their website, Cuff is a “New American restaurant that will set the tone for historic downtown Glendale, Arizona’s evolving future.” I decided to see exactly what that meant. I stopped in for lunch one day, a bit after 11am. My companion and I were seated – we ordered waters and began looking over the menu. The place itself is casual yet stylish, possessing a definitely approachable but still a bit trendy vibe. It (in a good way) feels like a diner-gone-industrial-chic, and also has a really quaint outdoor courtyard seating area.

The service throughout was excellent – our server was sweet, definitely checking in enough, but allowing us to leisurely hang out and take our time. The menu is small, but varied. I decided to go with the burger, complete with farmhouse cheddar, bacon and caramelized onion. Oh and spectacular fries. My dining companion had the Amalfi Chicken (a half-chicken in a lemon parmesan broth). Other than maybe stating it needed a bit more salt, she enjoyed it.

Bottom line, meals were satisfactory. However, I think for both of us, the favorite was the Burrata appetizer. Kind of a make-your-own-bruschetta concept, the mozzarella was so fresh and creamy, and it was accompanied by roasted red peppers, basil pesto, balsamic glaze, and ciabatta bread (not really enough bread, but our server happily fixed that).

Cuff has a full bar and drink menu, complete with several “signature cocktails” like the Glendale Thistle – copper city bourbon, cynar, figgy pudding bitters. We chose a bottle of white wine, Twin Islands Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) which was full-flavored, yet crisp. Delicious.

Overall, I would go back – but maybe for a few appetizers and to try out their Happy Hour, which is DAILY from 3:00 to 5:30pm. Check it out next time you’re in downtown Glendale, Arizona.
